Pastor, Have You Heard About Missionary Chad Phillips…

A little over a year ago, I had the privilege of meeting Brother Chad Phillips and his wife, Linda, at a missions conference at Zion Hill Baptist Church of Greenville, South Carolina. I was impressed with my brother from the outset. He is a missionary sent out of Victory Baptist Church, Loganville, Georgia where Derik Lawrence is the fine pastor. The Phillips family is serving with Macedonia World Baptist Missions  going to the country of Cambodia!

Statistics about Cambodia:
  • Over 95% Therevada Buddhist
  • One of the top countries for child prostitution
  • One of the only countries in Southeast Asia (along with Thailand) which has complete religious freedom
  • Over ten thousand villages in Cambodia, many which have not been reached with the Gospel

Ministry Video:

Without a doubt, this is the best mission video I have ever seen! I think you will agree! A MUST SEE!

A Word From Brother Chad:

“Psalm 74:20 perfectly describes Cambodia: ‘Have respect unto the covenant; for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.’ If there were ever a country that was characterized by spiritual darkness, it would be Cambodia. Why? Well, for starts, the pure Gospel of Christ did not penetrate Cambodia’s borders until 1923. From the time the Gospel made it into Cambodia until the Khmer Rouge took over the country 52 years later, very few Cambodians turned to Christ. Under the Khmer Rouge rule, approximately 3 million people were slaughtered in what is known as the Killing Fields. Of the few thousand Christians in the country at that time, only a few hundred survived.
After another decade of civil war throughout the 1980’s, Cambodia finally opened its doors to foreign missionaries in 1994- the first time in twenty years that foreign missionaries were allowed into the country. So, the Gospel made it to Cambodia in 1923; but what little presence of the Gospel was almost completely destroyed during the Killing Fields.
God has called our family to plant churches in this spiritually dark place. Please pray for us as we carry the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ to the Cambodian people.”

Pastor, Have You Heard About Charlotte Matthews

Most of us do not think of the United Kingdom as a needy mission field. The truth, however, is that it IS a place that is in desperate need of a spiritual awakening. Even though we read of great revivals and mighty works, wrought by God’s own hand, in this part of the world from our history books, there is a greater need of laborers now more than ever!

Charlotte Matthews is one such individual who has given her life to further the cause of Christ and to “stand in the gap” for the United Kingdom. This young lady is excited about serving Christ! Learn more about her in this post and pray for her situation.

In Her Own Words…

Hello Pastor,

My name is Charlotte Mathews.  I am a Missionary with Macedonia World Baptist Missions, sent out of Liberty Baptist Church in Stockbridge, Georgia to the United Kingdom.

I had the great privilege of growing up in a Christian home and I accepted Christ as my personal Saviour when I was twelve years old. A year later, I surrendered my life to Full‐Time Christian Service and became involved in the ministry of my local Church.

It was during this time that I went on my first Mission Trip with my Church Youth Group. This trip planted a burden in my heart that continued to grow throughout the years, and in 2002, during another Youth Mission Trip, the Lord began leading me to the United Kingdom as a Missionary.

After completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology with Proficiencies in Missions and Music Education, and a Master’s Degree in Religious Education (both from Atlanta Baptist College), the Lord allowed me the opportunity to take a second Mission Trip to the UK in the Summer of 2009. It was following this trip, during the annual Faith Promise Missions Conference at my home church, that the Lord granted the desire of my heart by calling me to be a Missionary to the people of the United Kingdom.

The United Kingdom is a beautiful land with a rich history, but it is also a place of deep Spiritual need.  With nearly 62 million people calling the UK their home, the few churches that are scattered through the UK have very little chance of truly reaching that land with the Gospel unless more people would be willing to make themselves available to God to help missionaries and church planters as they seek to tell those around them about the Saviour and to train the British people to do the same.

The Lord has called me to be a help to church planting missionaries in the areas of music, teaching, soul-winning and discipleship, as well as any other facets of ministry that the Lord would choose to use me for.  I am currently on deputation and would love to have the opportunity to come to your church to present the work that God has laid on my heart.  If I may be of service to you in any way, or if you would consider allowing me to be a part of your missions program please contact me at [email protected].  If you would be willing to pray for me as I am on deputation and after I reach the field, please sign up for my Prayer Update letters on my website (http://aheartforrevival.weebly.com/prayer-letters.html)
Thank you for your dedication to missions!

United Kingdom Statistics:

– Land mass 94600 square miles
– Population around 62 million
– Less than 7% attend church anywhere
– 20% of the population is under age 18
– 10% of the population is between age 18 and 25
– 7 of every 10 births are to Muslim families
– Nearly half the population describes themselves as atheist, pagan or no religion
– The fastest growing religions in the UK are atheism, witchcraft and Islam
– Over half of British young people have never heard of the King James Bible
– Over two thirds of Londoners do not own a Bible

Pastor, Have You Heard About Missionary Jim Roberts

It is with great pleasure that we introduce a great missionary couple to you… The Roberts Family! Jim and Autumn Roberts are going to Scotland to share the good news of Jesus Christ. Currently, they are involved in their pre-field work, of deputation, raising monthly prayer and financial support. This family has been sent out by Mile Creek Baptist Church of Six Mile, South Carolina and are serving with Macedonia World Baptist Missions of Braselton, Georgia.

Current Status On Deputation…

A Personal Note:

“We are excited that God would count us worthy to serve Him. We have just recently heard of 6 new supporters and we thank God for these new partners. We have been in a total of 70 meetings since we began deputation in July. We are currently at around 20% of our support and looking forward to see what God has in store. Please continue to pray for us as we also have 15 meetings this November.”

Experience and Training…

Education

I Graduated from Tabernacle Baptist Bible College in Greenville, SC in May of 2010 with a Theological degree.

Experience

I have been blessed to have many opportunities to serve the Lord since Salvation and the call to the Mission field.

Preaching

While in Bible College I preached in a boys home and rest home every Sunday. I also preached in a local Jail once a month. These opportunities taught me to study the Word of God and gave me a great chance to see God transform lives through salvation.

Training

I was privileged to work with a missionary in Maine for 2 and a half years while in the Navy where I received valuable on the field training in cultural differences and how to start a church. The lessons learned here have helped me greatly see the does and don’ts of missionary service.

Teaching

I also was the youth choir director and assistant Teen class teacher and am currently working with young men for further service for Christ in life on life discipleship.

Statistics About Scotland…

Aberdeen – 183,030

Dundee – 142,070

Inverness – 72,745

Stirling – 33,710

• Religions

Church of Scotland – 42 %

No Religion- 27.5 %

Roman Catholic – 15.9 %

Only 5 % of the population attend any church on any given Sunday.

A Little Info About Jim…

My parents were missionaries in Scotland for eight years until1988, where I was born. I was privileged to have parents who loved the Lord and did their best to teach me about the things of God. However, I rebelled against those things which I had been taught.

In high school, I played sports and excelled in football. I had several chances to play collegiate football, yet the Lord in his sovereignty took the joy out of football for me. In trying to seek happiness and peace in my life, I soon became a drunk and drug abuser. In one last attempt to fill the void in my heart, I joined the military in 2002 where I spent 5 years of honorable service in the Navy.

At the age of 21, On May 25, 2003, while in the military, on a Sunday night in the parsonage of Mile Creek Baptist Church, I accepted Christ as my Savior. Then I finally found what I had been missing and searching for, for so long . Two years later on March 19 God called me to preach and in a missions conference in the same year God called me to the mission field, in which he burdened my heart for “my people” in Scotland.

I feel unworthy, yet thankful, for the opportunity to repay God for what He has done for me, by allowing me to serve Him.

A Little Info About Autumn…

I am blessed to have been saved at the age of 7 in Vacation Bible School at my home church. I have always had a tender heart towards missions and am thankful that the Lord allowed me to marry a man that has the same desires. I attended a local Christian College and have been teaching 2nd grade at a Christian school in South Carolina.

Jim and I were married in 2004 where we lived in Maine and Virginia due to the military. This was a time for the Lord to prepare us for the Mission field as we had to depend only on the Lord and each other. In 2005 Elijah was born which was a great addition to our family. After getting out of the Navy, we moved back to South Carolina where I was able to be “planted” in our home church and grow more spiritually in the Lord. In 2009 the Lord blessed us with Ali Grace, who brought so much joy into our lives.

After much prayer, Jim and I feel the Lord has called us to Scotland to share His word with those who are lost. God is so gracious to allow me to serve Him in this way. My prayer is that He may receive not just glory, but unusual and great glory through my life.
